“Being a good neighbor is an art which makes life richer.” – Gladys Taber.
Welcome to the Happy Hollow Neighborhood Association
Meet Beatrix Rausch. In the fall of 2019, Felice Bray, who was the leader of the neighborhood association for many years, handed over the direction to Beatrix.
Beatrix has lived in the neighborhood for more than 10 years. She is married to Dennis Rausch.
The neighborhood association became active and organized around 15 years ago when improvements to Happy Hollow Road and the need for sidewalks were raised to the West Lafayette city planners. In addition to Felice Bray, many others contributed to become the voice of our neighborhood. According to some records passed along to me, Betty Delgass may have held the first neighborhood association meeting in her house around 2004.
Between 2004 and 2010 the neighborhood published a newsletter about once per year. We have decided to revive the newsletter and have a goal to publish it 4 times a year if the response is positive and if the costs can be covered by associations dues. It costs about $0.50 per page in its current form – all color on glossy paper – 2 sided.
Click here for latest issue. (PDF file) You will need a .PDF reader to view the newsletter. The printed version of the newsletter should be delivered to your front door sometime before January 30th, 2020.
Currently there are 2 private groups on Facebook with the name “Happy Hollow Neighborhood,” however, neither one is related to our neighborhood in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Is anyone Facebook savvy and want to start a private Facebook group for our neighborhood in West Lafayette? If so, contact Beatrix.
